Cat ELI (Extended Life Inhibitor) generally can be used in many Cat engines, but there are critical exceptions, especially for certain marine engines that require a glycol-based coolant (like ELC) for cavitation protection. ELl alone are not allowed for use in machines

that has no reduction aftertreatment devices, in engines that has AATAC and in Marine engines that have SWAC.

Cat diesel engines equipped with air-to-air aftercooling (ATAAC)

Cat C7 through C32 marine engines with engine mounted heat exchangers and raw water aftercoolers (SWAC)
